Will Carmelo Anthony be a Sacramento King soon. Anthony has yet to accept or decline a very lucrative contract extension from his current Denver team. The rumor is that the Former Syracuse standout wants to become a true free agent and orchestrate a poer grab for a lucrative contact.
According to NBA.com, The New Jersey Nets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Sacramento Kings are the favored destinations for the Denver Nuggets to trade Carmelo Anthony. Kings fans would love to get a hold of such a dynamic player, but can Sacramento get his attention.
The Kings can pay well since they are well below their cap. King’s fans will sure support a player that can help take the Kings off the bottom of the stack, but will that be enough?
Looks like he did not come to Sacramento.
The Denver Post reported Monday night that Anthony was traded to the New York Knicks in a blockbuster deal.
Denver will reportedly send Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman to New York.
The Nuggets get Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, Wilson Chandler, New York’s 2014 first-round draft pick, Golden State’s 2012 second-round pick and 2013 second-round pick along with $3 million in cash.
