The storm is gone but Sacramento is a mess

Yesterday’s storm in the Sacramento area is gone, but the region is a mess.

SMUD and PG&E are still woring hard in the area. Over 12K SMUD customers are still without power. The storm knocked out power to over 90,000 people in the Sacramento region. Cities and communities where customers are without power included Sacramento, 2100 customers; Carmichael, 2,119 customers; North Highlands, 1,449; Arden Arcade, 1,385; Citrus Heights, 1,315; and Fair Oaks, 1,078. No ETA has been given by SMUD or PG&E.

City of Sacramento crew are out in full force today as well. The storm took down over 300 trees. CHP said there was sharp rise in traffic accidents as well. There was a reported 130 accidents in the area.

The weather is looking better for the rest of the week with highs in the 70′s.
