Foggy morning in the Sacramento area

For the last several days the greater Sacramento area has been socked in by fog. Early morning commuters are encouraged to drive slower than normal in the dangerous conditions. There is a dense fog advisory for most of the Central Valley and Bay Area until 11 a.m. Many areas are experiencing less than 1/4 mile visibility, and even a few locations have visibility below 500 feet.

The fog made visibility worse in rural areas, where moisture has accumulated off the nearby fields. The winds are expected to pick up starting Wednesday and will help stop the Sacramento area’s streak of foggy days.
