The Sacramento Mountain Lions played a valiant season opener, but in the end they lost lost to the Hartford Colonials. The score was 27-10. This was the first United Football League game for both teams. The Colonials had strong performance and the win was well deserved.

Colonials’ quarterback Josh McCown completed 11 of 21 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns and former UConn star Andre Dixon led all rushers with 94 yards on 21 carries.

Are your a cheerleader? Do you want to be one? The Sacramento Mountain Lions, a UFL football team, is looking for cheerleaders. The team will hold auditions on June 5. They are looking for dancers and cheerleaders.

The Mountains Lions as already had tryouts for the football team itself, now it’s the cheerleaders turn. The auditions are at 12:30 p.m. at the 24 Hour Fitness Sport at 1314 Fulton Ave. in Sacramento.

Sacramento’s new United Football League team is looking for player. Tryouts will be next Saturday at Natomas High School in Sacramento. The Sacramento Mountain Lions are looking for free agents. The event will be between 7:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. at the high school at 3301 Fong Ranch Road. Potential players can pre-register online at ufl-football.com. The tryouts are open for all positions.
