Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to veto the state’s budget as early as today, but an override of the veto is likely. Hours after the state Legislature approved the long-delayed spending plan yesterday, the governor promised a veto and called it irresponsible for burdening taxpayers and failing to meet his demands for long-term fiscal reform. It would be the first budget veto in modern history by a California governor.

Mayor Heather Fargo, right, wants Sacramento police to reopen an investigation against opponent Kevin Johnson. Last year, police investigators found claims made against Johnson by a 17-year-old girl were without merit. I just read a Sacramento Bee article on this and I am appalled. This shows the true moral character of Fargo. She would waste the city’s valuable police resource to investigate her biggest opponent. Sacramento will be better off with Fargo out of office. And this piece in the article laughable.
