Many people in the Lincoln High School area in the dark right now. Twelve thousand PG&E customer are without power.
According to PG&E a large transformer at the PG&E power substation near the corner of Hammer Lane and North Lower Sacramento Road caught fire. The fire knocked out power in the general area. Firefighters were about get the fire under control in about 45 minutes.
Both the Los Banos/St. Mary’s game and the Oakridge/Lincoln games were postponed due to the power outage. Their games were play on Saturday instead.
PG&E has so far refused to give a time when their customer’s power will be restored.

Is prop 16 good for Sacramento? It depends on who you ask. The proposition, primarily underwritten by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), would take a two-thirds vote of the electorate before a public agency could enter the retail power business.
The advertising that PG&E is pushing says that residents should have the right to approve electric companies run by cities, because taxpayers have a right to say how their money is being spent. On the other side of the issues is the fact that locally run electric company charge about 25 percent to 30 percent less than PG&E. Voter righter vs Lower Costs? Which is better?

Yesterday’s storm in the Sacramento area is gone, but the region is a mess.
SMUD and PG&E are still woring hard in the area. Over 12K SMUD customers are still without power. The storm knocked out power to over 90,000 people in the Sacramento region. Cities and communities where customers are without power included Sacramento, 2100 customers; Carmichael, 2,119 customers; North Highlands, 1,449; Arden Arcade, 1,385; Citrus Heights, 1,315; and Fair Oaks, 1,078. No ETA has been given by SMUD or PG&E.
