Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the woman pictured in the video surveillance images, attached. Detectives would like to speak with her pursuant to an incident that occurred earlier today, in which a shooting claimed the life of a man at a north Sacramento area apartment complex.

Earlier this morning, at about 12:15 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Groves Apartments in the 5700 block of Manzanita Avenue, in response to calls of a man that had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies found a male adult inside an apartment. He had sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to a nearby hospital, and pronounced dead a short time later.

Earlier this afternoon, at approximately 2:20p.m., Sheriff’s deputies went to a home in the 7600 block of Malt Court in south Sacramento. A woman had called the Sheriff’s department, requesting a welfare check on a female employee who had not shown up for work that day.

Upon arrival at the residence, deputies spoke with neighbors, who stated that they had not seen or heard from the female resident in several days. In addition, information received by deputies regarding the lack of activity around the home in recent days amounted to cause for concern. Upon receiving no answer when attempting to make contact at the residence, deputies made the decision to force entry into the home to check the welfare of any persons therein.

Steven Zinda is in jail charged for murder of David Valdez. Apparently Mr. Valdez’s car broke down near the home of Steven Zinda. Zinda had just arrived home and discovered his home had been robber. He apparently saw Mr. Valdez assumed it was him that had broken into his home and brutally murdered the innocent man.

Authorities confirmed that Steven Zinda had in fact been robbed. They also confirmed David Valdez had nothing to do with the robbery and was an innocent victim.

In what is almost a daily news event, Sacramento Police are investigating another shooting. This time a 29-year-old male was shot and killed in his Canterbury Road hotel room.

A disturbance was reported at the hotel. A short time later officers arrived and found a broken window of one room with the victim deceased inside. The subject who shot the male was detained at the scene.

Stabbing and murder are apparently not a serious crime in the eyes of Arnold Schwarzenegger. One of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s last official acts was to commute the manslaughter sentence of the son of former state Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez.

Esteban Nuñez, who was sentenced to 16 years in prison for his role in the October 2008 stabbing death of college student Luis Dos Santos near San Diego State, had his prison term commuted to seven years by the governor.

Murder in the Sacramento area are nothing new, but we did not even make it through the first day of the year before someone was killed.

Sacramento police said two men were found in the backyard of a home in the 2100 block of Amanda Way, early Saturday morning. Both men had head trauma. One man was dead at the scene the other man was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.

Anul Malik Ram is accused of killing her 3-year old daughter last weekend. She is also claiming her husband Dinesh Ram physically abused her.

While any type of abuse from her husband is not okay this does not give her a reason to kill her child. Some is the media are making excuses for this so called mother.
