Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans has had a good rookie season. He will apparently receive the Rookie of the Year award, according to sources of the Sacramento Bee.
Evans finished off the season with an average of 20.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game, making him the fourth rookie in league history after Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James to average at least 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Not too of a group to be included into.
You can be sure the other two guys in the hunt for the award, the Golden State Warriors’ Sephen Curry and the Milwaukee Bucks’ Brandon Edwards, are bumming right about now after stellar seasons.

The Sacramento Kings have sold out their first-ever social media promotion for Wednesday’s game.
There are thousands of passionate Kings fans connecting directly with the team and with each other every day through our social media platforms, Mitch Germann, Kings vice president of business communications, said in the release. We want to provide exclusive opportunities for those fans to engage offline as well, and to hear directly from the players they connect with most online.
The Kings are touting the selling success as proof that the Kings have a passionate following. Oh did I tell you they sold 100 tickets? It took the Sacramento Kings almost two days to sell 100 tickets.
The Kings do not have a following, the Kings are not exciting to many in the area. It’s not about winning or losing. The Kings sold out crowds in their early years despite losing most games. It’s about creating an exciting game for the fans and the Kings have not been able to do that for years now.

The Sacramento Kings busted a ball and they are warning other NBA teams. In an freak accident Francisco Garcia broke his right wrist when an exercise ball burst. Kings co-owner Joe Maloof ordered an e-mail sent to the NBA’s other 29 teams. Apparently he felt there are unforeseen dangers when using exercise balls. Garcia was lying on his back doing dumbbell presses with 90-pound weights in each hand when the ball burst.
Garcia’s a five-year contract extension is worth $29.6 million. Maloof said the team is considering legal action against the maker of the ball. Sources close to the team identified it as an Italian-based company, Gymnic. Maloof said “I want to wait until we get the facts and start formulating what we want to do. The main concern I have is to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.” Kings have officially jumped the shark. A ball bursts and you are going to sue? Do they realize how silly that is?
