The Sacramento City Council voted Tuesday to boycott Arizona. A move that has angered many area residents. Many people can not understand why the City of Sacramento has any business fighting laws in the state of Arizona.
The vote was 6-1 with the only person to vote against the boycott was Councilman Robbie Waters. Waters has said all along that he wouldn’t support a boycott. Sacramento’s boycott means no city employees can travel to Arizona. Sacramento will also not sign any new contracts with businesses based in Arizona and won’t renew existing contracts once they’re up.

More members of the Sacramento City Council have expressed their desire to support criminals. Mayor Kevin Johnson flipped flopped on the issue earlier this week. Now Councilman Ron Fong is expressing is support for people breaking federal law. Fong is asking the Sacramento City Council to take a public stance on a law passed in Arizona that makes breaking a federal law also a state crime.

Is Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson for or against illegal immigration? It depends on when you asked him. Kevin Johnson, who once played for the Phoenix Suns, announced he was joining Gavin Newsom’s boycott of Arizona. Later in the day Johnson told the Sacramento Bee he was not for a boycott. Apparently Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon asked Johnson to boycott the boycott.

Actually they were stolen. Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson was the victim of a thief this weekend in San Francisco. It happened Saturday at about 8 p.m. in Union Square.
Johnson, in town for a conference with represenatives from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, decided to use public transportation to travel to the city. “I thought it would be nice to take public transportation, so I rode AMTRAK from Sacramento to Richmond,” said Johnson.
