Jennifer Derose Blanchette was arrested for the death of her 5-month old baby. According to the sheriff’s department, the Rancho Cordova mother was arrested in her apartment at Zinfandel Village on the 3500 block of Data Drive.

The 40 year old mother allowed deputies and Child Protective Services to enter the apartment. The authorities quickly located the body of the 5 month old. The Sacramento County coroner identified the child as Gracie Lynn Johnson.

A 3-year-old boy who authorities suspect was the victim of child abuse died at a Sacramento hospital. According to reports Jeremiah Mcrath died at 1:20 a.m. at UC Davis Medical Center.

The father and stepmother were both arrested on suspicion of abuse. They both claim to be innocents. Adrian Ramon Mcrath, 19, and Dayshawna N. Lawrence, 22, were booked into jail. They will both have a court appearance tomorrow.
