In response to the Sacramento City Council passing a resolution of economic sanctions against the State of Arizona, former candidate for State Senate District 6, Gerald Klaas, has created a website urging the boycott of businesses within the city boundaries.
The new website, www.BoycottSacramento.com, notes that the City of Sacramento receives a portion of all sales tax revenue collected within city limits. Followers of the site have decided to boycott businesses within the city limits in order to avoid having their tax dollars allocated to the City of Sacramento.

Will you boycott Sacramento over the city councils decision to boycott Arizona over enforcing federal law? You are not alone if you plan on boycotting Sacramento businesses. Thousands of people have committed to not do business in the city limits of Sacramento.
Over 2,240 people have signed up for a Facebook group committed to boycotting Sacramento. The Sacramento Convention Center has received hundreds of calls from businesses outside of California saying they will no longer be doing any conventions in Sacramento. Area talk shows are inundated with calls and emails from people all boycotting Sacramento. The Sacramento Metro Chamber has heard from a significant number of business that are getting calls from their customers about a boycott. Most agree the City Council’s decision to boycott Arizona will do very little to hurt Arizona, but will significantly impact the City of Sacramento.

The Sacramento City Council voted Tuesday to boycott Arizona. A move that has angered many area residents. Many people can not understand why the City of Sacramento has any business fighting laws in the state of Arizona.
The vote was 6-1 with the only person to vote against the boycott was Councilman Robbie Waters. Waters has said all along that he wouldn’t support a boycott. Sacramento’s boycott means no city employees can travel to Arizona. Sacramento will also not sign any new contracts with businesses based in Arizona and won’t renew existing contracts once they’re up.

The City of Sacramento has a $43 million budget deficit and is looking to layoff staff as one possible answer. The city id proposing the elimination of 240 positions. Some of those positions are currently empty and will not be backfilled. AS many as 100 people may get pink slips.
The city is also adding to the rolling brownout days at local fire stations. The city council is also considering cuts to parks and recreations. This may include closure of community pools and community centers.
The city continue to spend tax payer money on the boycotting of Arizona. The city council is considering cuts that effect public safety and enjoyment for local residents and choose to increase spending on supporting illegal activity in another state.
The Sacramento City Council will hear the proposed budget reductions on June 10.

Last night the Sacramento City Council voted to officially boycott Arizona because of Arizona’s law that enforces federal law. The Council is spending public money to fight a law in a states where they do not live. This latest move has angered many in the region.
Councilwoman Lauren Hammond as well Councilwoman Sandy Sheedy specifically stated they were voting for the boycott because of race. Many have asked why the Sacramento City Council is spending valuable tax payer money to deal with a law in Arizona. Hammond and Sheedy were clear on the subject. It’s about race.

More members of the Sacramento City Council have expressed their desire to support criminals. Mayor Kevin Johnson flipped flopped on the issue earlier this week. Now Councilman Ron Fong is expressing is support for people breaking federal law. Fong is asking the Sacramento City Council to take a public stance on a law passed in Arizona that makes breaking a federal law also a state crime.

Is Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson for or against illegal immigration? It depends on when you asked him. Kevin Johnson, who once played for the Phoenix Suns, announced he was joining Gavin Newsom’s boycott of Arizona. Later in the day Johnson told the Sacramento Bee he was not for a boycott. Apparently Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon asked Johnson to boycott the boycott.
