Do you know who Captain Kirk is? If so you may be happy to hear Sacramento will be home to a Star Trek exhibit for the next 6 months.
The exhibit includes the Guardian of Forever set and Captain Picard’s quarters. There is memorabilia from the first television show all the way through the latest movie. The “Star Trek – the Exhibition” is now on display at the California Aerospace Museum at McClellan Park.
Some of the artifacts include original props and costumes from the TV series. You can visit the “Transporter Room” where you climb up on the transporter set, say “Beam me up, Scotty!” and then watch on a TV monitor as you dissolve away.
From the California Aerospace Museum website:
Star Trek the Exhibition is the ultimate experience for fans and first-timers. It is like having your own personal “holodeck” to place you inside the excitement, drama and imagination of Star Trek. Come aboard the bridge of the Starship Enterprise, sit in the Captain’s chair, see the actual props and costumes used in the TV series’ and films, and enjoy one-of-a-kind displays, interactive kiosks, rare photo opportunities and unique adventures. Excite your kids. Inspire your spouse. Reconnect with your own spirit of adventure. Boldly go.
