Sacramento Valley Roadwork Schedule

There will be several road closures and scheduled delays on Sacramento road ways in the next few weeks. Here is a schedule of events. The Amgen Tour of California bicycle event that we reported on earlier is the fist event in our list.

Motorists can expect short-term rolling closures in the following locations:

Sunday, May 16 from 11:30 to 5 p.m.

  • Interstate 80 eastbound off-ramp to Nevada Street in Auburn
  • Interstate 80 eastbound off-ramp to Bowman Road
  • Interstate 80 eastbound off-ramp to Bell Road
  • State Route 49 in the Auburn Ravine from the American River to Salmon Falls Road
  • State Route 16 in Sacramento County from Sloughhouse Road to U.S. Highway 50

Monday, May 17 from 11:30 to 2 p.m.

  • Interstate 80 westbound off-ramp to Richards Boulevard in Davis
  • Interstate 80 westbound off-ramp to Olive Drive in Davis
  • State Route 113 north and southbound off-ramps to Russell Boulevard
  • State Route 128 from the Yolo/Solano County line to Main Street in Winters

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 16 (Yolo County) at Kentucky Ave in Woodland: Work continues to install a signalized intersection to provide safety improvements and enhance traffic operations at the intersection of State Route 16 and Kentucky Avenue. Completion is expected in the summer of 2010. No traffic interfering work is scheduled.

U.S. Highway 50 (Sacramento County) Work has begun on a $108 million project by Caltrans, Sacramento County, the City of Rancho Cordova, the Sacramento Transportation Authority and the Sacramento Area Council of Governments to construct 7.5 miles of new bus/carpool lanes in both directions from Sunrise Boulevard to Watt Avenue. Completion is expected in 2013.

U.S. Highway 50 (Sacramento County) from Watt Avenue to Sunrise Boulevard: Drivers can expect various east and westbound lane and closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Saturday(9 a.m. Friday) (8 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday)/ A contractor is scheduled for striping/marking work

U.S. Highway 50 (Yolo County) Work is underway on a $16 million project by Caltrans and the City of West Sacramento to reconfigure the Harbor Boulevard interchange and widen the overcrossing. This project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2011.

May 16- May 22

U.S. Highway 50 (Yolo County)from the Interstate 80 Interchange to east of Harbor Boulevard: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (9 a.m. Friday) (8 a.m. Saturday) A contractor scheduled to do excavation work, install traffic monitoring systems and k-rail.

U.S. Highway 50 (Sacramento and Yolo Counties) Work continues on a $30 million project to improve safety by removing the existing guardrail and replacing it with a new concrete median barrier. The dirt median will also be replaced with a paved surface. Completion is expected in 2010.

May 16 – May 22

On U. S. Highway 50 (Sacramento) from the Yolo/Sacramento County Line to Watt Avenue: Motorists can expect intermittent east and westbound lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Saturday (8 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday) ( midnight to 8 a.m. Saturday) A contractor is scheduled to install traffic monitoring systems.

State Route 65 (Placer County) Work continues on a $19 million project by the City of Rocklin and the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency to construct a new bridge and full freeway interchange at the State Route 65 and Sunset Boulevard intersection. Completion is expected in 2010.

State Route 65 (Placer County) from Blue Oaks/Washington Boulevard to Twelve Bridges Road: Motorists can expect various intermittent north and southbound lane closures from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday. A contractor is scheduled to do paving.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) Work is underway on a $48 million project by Caltrans, Placer County, the City of Roseville and the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency to add more than 5.5 miles of new bus/carpool lanes on Interstate 80 between Eureka Road and the Sacramento/Placer County line. Completion is expected in 2010.

May 16- May 22

Interstate 80 ( Placer County) from Taylor Road to Rocklin Road: Motorists can expect intermittent east and westbound lane and ramp closures from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday (11 P.M.. to 8 a.m. Friday) A contractor is scheduled to do paving, slab and guardrail installation.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 12 (Sacramento County) at State Route 160 Junction: Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday. A contractor is scheduled to do striping and marking work.

State Route 16 (Sacramento County) from Perkins Road to Michigan Bar Road: Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do paving and electrical work.

State Route 16 (Sacramento County) at Kiefer Boulevard: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to install a traffic signal.

State Route 16 (Yolo County) from Woodland Avenue to Lamb Valley Creek: Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do striping and marking work and construct curb ramps.

State Route 51 (Sacramento County) at the northbound off-ramp to Auburn Boulevard/Fulton Avenue: Motorists can expect partial ramp and lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday throughThursday. A crew is scheduled to do landscaping work.

Interstate 80 (Sacramento County) at Winters Street: Motorists can expect intermittent westbound lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Saturday. A contractor is scheduled to install curb ramps.

Interstate 80 (Yolo County) from Enterprise Boulevard to to westbound off-ramp to eastbound Highway 50: Motorists can expect intermittent east and westbound lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Saturday. ( 8 a.m. Saturday) A contractor is scheduled to install traffic monitoring systems and overhead signs.

Interstate 80 (Yolo County) at U.S. Highway 50: at the westbound off-ramp to eastbound U. S. Highway 50: Motorists can expect the westbound connector to be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Saturday. (8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday). A contractor is scheduled to install k-rail.

State Route 99 (Sacramento County) from Elverta Road just north of the sourthbound off-ramp to Elkhorn Boulevard: Motorists can expect partial lane closures from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday. A contractor is scheduled to do electrical work.

State Route 113 (Yolo County) at the Hutchinson Road Overcrossing: Motorists can expect partial lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A crew is scheduled to do landscaping work.

State Route 113 (Yolo County) at Covell Boulevard Overcrossing: Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

State Route 113 (Yolo County) from Churchill Downs Avenue to County Road 102: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. A crew is scheduled for tree trimming.
