Nice objectivity: "Sacramento State police officers shot Jones who *unfortunately* survived." Despite the crime and personal feelings the author may have, it's just bad journalism for a reporter to inject their opinion when recounting an event, no matter the heinousness. Better luck next time Mr. Hawkins.
It is sad for Quran to have survived. He is now paralyzed from his bullet wounds. For the rest of his life he will be in the system and cannot move his legs.
Good to know. Thanks for the info. I hope he spend the rest of his life in jail.
News always are opinion interjected? It cannot be avoided no matter how hard someone tires.
"mistake"? Tell that to the parents of Scott Hawkins. Nice to see you are standing up for Quran Jones when Scott Hawkins was the one murdered.
"unfortunately", I agree with dissapointed. I wonder how many people hold the jobs that they have today! I am not a college graduate and can easily see that was a mistake!!!!!!!!!!
“Unfortunately survived”? I thought it was a journalist job to just report what happened. Last time I checked that didn’t mean mixing their opinions in on a story. Report the news, not your opinions.
@ Matt MaGuire: I think when Kay said a “mistake” I’m pretty sure it was meant about the journalist putting in their opinion on the story. Not at the tragic crime. chill out.
Sad how many people defend the shooter and no love for the victim.
Stop with the paradigm shift! Matt McGuire keeps trying to make the argument about Mr. Hawkins. “Disappointed” and company are discussing journalistic integrity. No one disputes the tragedy that occurs when a young person is robbed of their future at the hands of another. That should be clear to even the simplest of minds.
