The CHP is investigating an alleged case of road rage against local radio personality Pat Walsh. The KFBK “Sports Guy” Pat Walsh was driving along I-80 near Applegate Tuesday when the incident occurred.

Walsh was driving eastbound on Interstate 80 when he slowed down to allow a big rig to pull ahead of him. Walsh said a tan Oldsmobile SUV trailing a car dolly came from behind him. “Here comes this car, barreling out of nowhere,” Walsh said. “I thought it was going to sidewipe me.”

According to Walsh there were three men in the car. They were yelling and flashing obscene gestures. Walsh tried to get away, but the men followed him at a high rate of speed. Walsh pulled over near the Applegate truck scales to try and defuse the situation.

The three men in the SUV circled Walsh and hit him several times in the face and body. Walsh suffered a cut to his head, a swollen jaw, and bruised kidneys.

There were witness to the attack and they called 911. Several people also tried to assist Walsh against the attackers. Walsh was able to get a license plate number of the SUV. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the CHP at 916-663-3344.
