Sacramento police dog survives surgery

It’s a good day for the Sacramento Police Department. One of their K-9 officer named Bandit underwent five hours of surgery Tuesday for a bullet wound that was more serious than initially thought.

Bandit is a 4 year old German shepherd that was shot in the line of duty. Police later shot and killed suspected robber that had shot Bandit.

Bandit’s partner, officer Gary Dahl was emotional at times when he discussed Bandit’s condition. The surgery was more complicated than originally thought, but Bandit is expected to make a full recovery.
