Sacramento Kings sign Jason Thompson

The Sacramento Kings signed first-round pick Jason Thompson on Tuesday.
Thompson, a forward-centre from Rider, was the 12th overall pick in last month’s draft. He will make about US$3.9 million in the first two years of his deal, with two years of team options worth more than $5.1 million.
Thompson finished a four-year career at Rider with averages of 16.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks. He will play on Sacramento’s summer league team in Las Vegas starting this weekend.
