The Sacramento Kings are on the move again, This time they are looking to move to Virginia Beach. The Sacramento Kings owners, the NBA, and Comcast-Spectacor will be in Virginia Beach next Tuesday to discuss the deal.
The proposed deal has Comcast building and leasing a new pro sports arena. Apparently Comcast will guarantee a 25-year lease on a new arena. They want naming rights as well as broadcasting rights. This will not be the first area deal for Comcast. The deal would also included funds from the city Virginia Beach. Their financing would come in part from a increase in lodging taxes.
Atlantic Coast Conference has agreed to add Virginia Beach to a list of possible venues once the arena is built.
The announcement is expected to be made by the Maloof family August 29th.
