Alex Stoffel will get $50,000 from the city of Sacramento and her attorney will get $140,000.
Why? Did the City of Sacramento do something to Stoffel? No the Sacramento Community Center Theater does not have user-friendly seating for the disabled.
Alex Stoffel attended an event at the theater and had to sit in row 29, because her wheelchair would not fit anywhere else. Alex Stoffel sued the city over the matter. Sacramento City officials said seats in rows H and I will be torn out to make room for wheelchairs. Those changes will allow Stoffel and her family to get about 20 rows closer to the stage.
The interesting part is those changes were already planned as part of a renovation of the theater. “This plan is no different than what we finalized in 2007 to present to council,” said general manager Judith Goldbar.
In the end the Sacramento Community Center Theater is making changes that were already planned. Alex Stoffel is $50,000 richer, her attorney Paul L. Rein has another $140,000, and the city tax payers are out $190,000

$50,000 seems excessive, especially since the changes are already in the planning stages. But, $140,00 for the attorney? That is wrong! Why don't you call his office and let him know just how wrong it is! (510) 832-5001 The crook, oops, "attorney" is from Oakland.
I agree. The attorney is the one making a killing here.
