Sacramento Car Wash Gets IRS Visit Over 4 Cents

Getting a visit the IRS should not be fun and it sure is not funny, but when the IRS visited Harv’s Metro Car Wash who could not help themselves and laugh out loud. The IRS sent two agents to Harv’s Metro Car

“They were deadly serious, very aggressive, very condescending,” says Harv’s owner, Aaron Zeff.

According to Ashley West, the attorney representing the car wash, the IRS sent a letter in October. In the letter the IRS said the business had filed all required taxes and did not have a balance.

The 4 cent bill has climbed to over $200 in interest and penalties. The IRS has not commented on the 4 cent bill, but Zeff says he has a response. On April 15th, he’s offering car washes for four cents.

  2. This goes to show you how quickly penalties from back taxes can build up. Even though this is a silly example, what if it were $400 or $4000? Just think of the penalties then?
