The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists that construction work to resurface State Highway 65 will begin next week in Roseville.
Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions and ramp closures affecting traffic in both directions on State Highway 65 from the Interstate 80 interchange to the Pleasant Grove Creek Bridge. Traffic-interfering work will take place at night with estimated delays of 10 – 20 minutes.
Beginning Wednesday, August 8 the northbound side for State Highway 65 is scheduled for alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and the southbound side is scheduled for alternating lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Caltrans advises motorists travelling in this region to factor in additional travel time or plan for an alternate route to avoid delays to their commute. Granite Construction of Sacramento is the prime contractor and this project is estimated to be complete by October 2012.
Work on this $524,000 project includes:
- Grinding out and replacing damaged asphalt.
- Crack seal treatments for pavement.
Roadside message boards will be used to post the latest information. Unexpected weather may prolong or cause the work to be rescheduled. Caltrans urges motorists to use caution in this area and to “Slow for the Cone Zone”.
