Huge Storms Hit Sacramento Region

Nearly 2 inches of rain fell in the Sacramento area on Sunday.  Arcade Creek overflowed and flooded nearby roads like Winding Way.  Scott Rd in Rancho Murieta remained flooded most of the day.

The entire region was inundated with water from the the heavy rains.  About 125,000 residents lost power according to PG&E and SMUD.  Northern California has received over 15 inches of rain in the last week.

Eight homes were reported to have flooded, but no other major damage was reported.  According to the California Department of Water Resources the area resivors have plenty of capacity to prevent major flooding.

The National Weather Service says there is a chance of rain for Monday evening, with rain likely on Tuesday for Northern California and then a possibility of showers on Wednesday.
