  1. Is it just me, or are all of the menus terribly uninspired? I looked through each and every menu and found them all to be a pretty big let down. I guess they’re trying to appeal to a broad market, but it seems like they’ve either dumbed down the food or they’re just not very original.

Do you think any of them noticed that 10 of the other restaurants were serving creme brulee for dessert as well?

  2. I noticed the same thing. The only one that looked semi interesting to me was Chanterelle, which I hear can be hit or miss.

I don’t understand why a place would only give one option for all 3 courses. When my wife and I go out, we always order 2 different things so we can try more things. Both of us having to get the same dishes is a turn off for us.

  3. It’s just disappointing to me. These should be the best culinary offerings our city can muster, and if it is I guess we’re more backwards than I’d like to admit.

There are a few diamonds in the rough, but over all I thought they were underwhelming. As a vegetarian, going out for this is completely out of the question as only a couple of the restaurants even offer vegetarian options. I can’t convince myself to pay $30 for a pasta dish or Indian food.

  4. I agree. Looking at the menus does not really inspire me to go out and eat (though the price does). While I have been wanting to try Mason’s I am not sure this will be the week.
