Earlier this afternoon, Sheriff’s Homicide detectives arrested Aubry Toews, 21, in connection with a homicide last month at an apartment in north Sacramento County. Toews was taken into custody around 11:15 a.m. at a residence in Sacramento County and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of murder, burglary and attempted robbery. She is being held without bail.
On July 29, 2011, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to calls of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Manzanita Avenue. Deputies found Michael Sanderson, 54, inside an apartment with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Sanderson was transported to a hospital and died of his injuries a short time later.
Detectives have arrested four other individuals in connection to this incident. Patrick McPherson, 25, and Travis Mabson, 31, were arrested on August 2nd. Patrick Godines, 26, was arrested on August 3rd, and Jeanette Campbell, 23, was arrested on August 18th. All of these subjects remain in custody and are ineligible for bail.
Detectives believe that all parties responsible for this incident are now in custody, and are not actively looking for any other suspects in connection to this crime.
