Another deadly day in Sacramento freeways today. Highway 99 was closed dues to a deadly collision that the CHP is continuing to investigate. The northbound lanes of Highway 99 were closed most of the morning.
According to the California High Patrol the collision involved five vehicles and left the body of a man on the highway. Another accident on highway 99 involved 2 cars. The accidents were not realted.
CHP officer Michael Bradley said the victim of the fatal accident was a 50-year-old white male who lived in Sacramento. According to Bradley, it was possible that the man could have been ejected out of the passenger seat of a car involved in the 5-vehicle collision. There were other reports that the man may have been crossing the freeway on foot.
According to the CHP Traffic Incident website, officers issued a sig alert for the highway closure around 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Three hours later, CHP officers reopened all lanes of Highway 99.
