Mother Accused Of Drowning Baby In Toilet

A 33 year old woman has been arrested after detectives said she intentionally drowned her baby boy in a toilet, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said. KCRA reported that Kristen Gibson was under investigation after deputies went to a home in Rancho Cordova to investigate an infant’s death in July.
A female roommate told an emergency medical worker that she had found the woman and infant in the bathroom. The responding deputies’ initial investigation revealed that the woman had given birth while on the toilet, the department said. …

Alleged Burglar Found In Rubbermaid Container

Police in Stockton, Calif., allege a man broke into an area home and then hid inside a large Rubbermaid-type container when officers arrived on scene. Sheriff’s deputies alleged Tuesday they found Joseph Womack, 22, hiding inside a container measuring 2 feet-by-3 feet after responding to a call about a potential burglary in progress at a Stockton home, KCRA-TV, Sacramento said. The container and its alleged cargo were found inside a bedroom closet, the deputies said.

Fabian Nunez son arrested

The teenage son of former California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, is one of four people arrested in the murder of a San Diego student. Detectives have arrested Ryan Jett, Esteban Nunez, Leshanor Thomas and Rafael Garcia, all 19 years old, at different locations in Sacramento County.

Shackled Emaciated Teen Runs To Gym

A missing teenager ran into a fitness center Monday with an inch-thick chain shackled to his ankle, and he may have been held captive, Tracy police said. Wearing just boxer briefs, the 17-year-old burst into an InShape Fitness Center at about 4 p.m., said Chuck Ellis, who works at the gym.

Thick Sacramento Fog Today

This morning’s for was the Sacramento area thickest fog day of the season. The heavy fog even prevented Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger from holding a morning press conference at the Capitol to announce new budget special sessions. The governor’s morning commute flight from Santa Monica to Sacramento was canceled because of low visibility at Sacramento International Airport (SMF). Letters to Santa

The Sacramento branch of the United States Post Office is launching its Dear Santa Letter Station for the 20th year today and is hoping to recruit volunteers to help make some of the letter writers’ wishes come true.
