The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists that beginning on Friday, August 13 at 10 p.m. and continuing until 5 a.m. Monday, August 16, the Atlantic Street/Eureka Road on-ramp to westbound I-80 will be closed. A signed detour will be available.

The closure is necessary to reconstruct the ramp as part of the Sacramento/Placer Interstate 80 Operational and Improvement Project. The $48 million project by Caltrans, Placer County, the City of Roseville and the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency will add more than 5.5 miles of new bus/carpool lanes on Interstate 80 between Eureka Road and the Sacramento / Placer County line. Completion is expected next year.

Roadside message boards will be used to post the latest information. Unexpected weather may prolong or cause the work to be rescheduled. Caltrans urges motorists to use caution in this area and to “Slow for the Cone Zone”.
