The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists that the southbound number one lane for State Highway 99 from Pringle Avenue to Elm Avenue will be temporarily closed for ongoing construction work. The southbound ramps at these locations will also be completely closed. Caltrans advises motorists to factor in additional travel time or plan for an alternate route to avoid delays to their commute.
The ramp closures and lane restrictions will take place from 10 p.m. Friday, July 27 to 4 a.m. Monday, July 30. This work is being done as part of a $14.7 million project to re-surface State Highway 99. The project is scheduled for completion by late 2012.
Roadside message boards will be used to post the latest information. Unexpected weather may prolong or cause work to be rescheduled. Caltrans urges motorists to use caution in this area and to “Slow for the Cone Zone”.
